Plot
The USS enterprise and its crew travel through the galaxy in a five-year mission to explore new worlds and defend the United Federation of Planets. The crew is composed by a group of nearly 430 members of the UFP (humans, aliens..). During the exploration Captain Kirk and his team fight against terrible races of aliens.

Star trek the original series only had three seasons from 1966 to 1969.
The first episode was released by the NBC on september 8th 1966.
The first season from 1966 to 1967 had 29 episodes.
The second season from 1967 to 1968 consisted of 26 episodes-
The third and last season from 1968 to 1969 included 24 episodes.
Influence.
Star trek have a tremendous influence in the science fiction world and in the scientific area. It affected new visions for television series and had an impact on movie makers who took Star trek ideas to create new worlds and new ways to see and understand science fiction.
As many science fiction fans, Gene Roddenberry the Star trek creator, was a visionary and a futurist who used many of his ideas in the show as technological devices or creative decoration not knowing that many of those tools were an invention which soon will change the world.
For example, The NASA claims that they started ion propulsion study because of one of the episodes in star trek. Martin Cooper, a member of motorola, the company who invented the cellphone, declare that the inspiration for this was the star trek communicator.

The science fiction show is a programme about a humanoid alien called THE DOCTOR who explores the universe in a Tardis whichi is time travelling device.
the tardis in its exterior is a a blue police box, very common in Britain in 1963.
